Seaborne Deliveries

To a great extent, coal exportable from Russia goes by sea. Figures say that about 86 mio mt of the Russian coal (from anthracite to coking type) were exported by sea in the year of 2008. The outcome in relation to the seaborne deliveries in 2009 is expected to stay flat to 2009 volume.

Mainly, the export of the Russian coal by sea is carried out through the ports of CIS and Baltic countries. In 2008, about 43.5 mio mt of all types of the Russian coal were handled at such ports of the westward. SUEK AG engages the following ports for loading the coal destined for the European countries:

Westward – 1.3 mio mt per month

MURMANSK (UK, ARA, France, Germany)

SAINT-PETERBURG (UK, ARA, Scandinavia)

UST-LUGA – terminal MRC (UK, ARA, Scandinavia)

VYBORG (Scandinavia)

RIGA RCT (UK, ARA, Germany, Scandinavia)
