Seaborne Deliveries

The substantial volume of coal export from Russia is shipped by sea. According to the information at hand about 89 mio mt of the Russian coal (from anthracite to coking type) was exported by sea in the year of 2010. The outcome in relation to the seaborne deliveries in 2011 is expected to stay flat to 2011 volume.

Mainly, the export of Russian coal by sea is carried out through the ports of CIS and Baltic countries. In 2010, about 41 mio mt of all types of Russian coal were handled at such ports of the westward. SUEK AG engages the following ports for loading the coal destined for the European countries:

Westward – 0.9 mio mt per month
MURMANSK (UK, ARA, France, Germany)
UST-LUGA-ROSTERMINALUGOL (UK, ARA, Scandinavia)
UST-LUGA – terminal MRC (UK, ARA, Scandinavia)
