Coal specification

SUEK AG exports coal of diverse quality which is mined by more than 10 production units. However, all coal we trade in is of high volatile having the volatile content of more than 29%.  Although there are several standard specifications for each delivery direction, we are able to arrange special blends in order to meet the characteristics our customer may require.

Baltic blends

There are two standard specifications of coal for this direction. The first is November 7th  type having quality parameters common for the Kuzbass coal of high volatile. November 7th type is exportable to the Atlantic market. The second is Sokolovsky type featured by lower ash and AFT higher than the usual Kuzbass coal while moisture is a bit enhanced. Sokolovsky type is highly demanded by considerable number of the European consumers.

In addition to the standard specifications, two more specifications are available on a case-by-case basis – Low CV type and High Sulphur type (+0.5%). Low CV type is used to be delivered by rail to the countries of Eastern Europe.
